This garden was long, thin and, as a holiday home that was used intermittently, in need of some attention. The brief was to create an area close to the house that would be pleasant to sit out in and to improve the look and feel of the remainder of the garden whilst keeping maintenance needs low. I created 2 distinct areas - 1 close to the house and then a farther seating area at the top of the garden creating depth and a reason to journey down the garden, whilst also making use of the part of the garden that had the majority of the sun.
The lawn needed to stay as a play area for 2 young children, and planting needed to be made up of seaside loving plants like Cordyline, Phormium and self sufficient flowerers like hardy geraniums. The final verdict from the client = “We LOVE it” - a great email to receive! All landscaping by Di Bray Gardens, contractors used were Oxford Woodscapes.
