How does the garden grow?

Well, at the moment, the garden is growing well - helped very much by warmth and gentle rain. It is wonderful to have normal 'british' rain for a change rather than the tropical downpours that we seem to get more often now. Our weather has become extreme it seems to me - when it's hot, it's very hot and when it's wet, it's very wet. At least the rain of the last few days has had time to really soak into the ground rather than just bouncing and running off. In the past, when the sun shone, you'd rejoice, but now I always seem to have an underlying concern that somehow it's only sunny because the climate is collapsing, and it's raining like the world might end because that's just what is happening! How depressing - and time to consider something that has benefitted from the weather that we've had - Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle' and Rose 'Comte de Chambord'!
